When it comes to technology, everyone has an equal opportunity to make things work for themselves. But here’s the thing, some countries are ahead miles from the rest of the world. The top ten tech savvy countries in the world actually embrace technology every day. They simply eat, sleep and live technology.
And the interesting thing about these tech savvy countries is that, it’s not really about the government implementation of tech or embrace of technology; but the citizens embrace of tech in startups and in everyday activities which contribute high revenue to the countries’ economy.
The Global Information Technology Report is usually an index which oversees the embrace of technology networking in countries to rank them accordingly. The report is usually based on an index known as the Networked Readiness Index (NRI). The NRI is based on the measurement of a country to embrace and utilize technology in various fields.
1. Sweden
Number one on the the list is Sweden. Sweden is one of the most famous countries in the tech sector, banking millions of money every year from tech. With the secret banking accounts and the governmental initiative to invest in tech most tycoons and big business men always banking in Sweden.
2. Finland
Small as it is, Finland is also active in technology and size doesn’t matter for sure. With support and passionate citizens working in the tech field. Finland has a high per capita income generated from tech innovations.
3. Singapore
Singapore has been consistent in the Networked Readiness Index’s (NRI) according to a report from the Global Information Technology Report in the recent years with fantastic infrastructure, relaxed regulations, high population usage and skills, and high social impact.
4. Norway
Norway has made "small but positive changes in all sub indexes," though the NRI worries that the country may have plateaued as far as its digital economy goes. But it does praise? Norway's "vision, success in ICT promotion, and government efficiency."
5. Switzerland
Although Switzerland has slipped by one spot since last year, the NRI still praises it for having a great pro-innovation environment, though it does say the country "seems to be using digital technologies relatively less to interact with citizens."
6. Luxembourg
Luxembourg continues to be a strong performer, keeping its ninth place from last year, with the NRI saying that "strong framework conditions have been put in place, reflected in the top rank regarding the level of sophistication for Information and communications technology related laws."
7. United States
The US jumps two places from last year, improving in all the subindexes but especially for its "extremely favorable business and innovation environment." Its low broadband prices also help.
8. Japan
The NRI has a lot of praise for Japan, saying "The business and innovation environment is improving visibly [and] the quality of management schools, and government procurement of advanced technologies are the continuation of a strong positive trend."
9. Denmark
Denmark is in the top 10 of all 4 'pillar' subindexes, so it is no wonder it made the top 10 on the overall list. It does especially well on Usage, with a massive chunk of the population actively engaged in modern technology.
10. South Korea
It has taken a while to get there, but there NRI says that South Korea's "political and regulatory environment, historically one of its relative weaknesses, has improved significantly, especially when it comes to the judicial system."
